Get That Ghoulish Glow

Artful Eyes

Dear Audrey,

Do you have any good, inexpensive Halloween makeup and hair tips?

Most people don’t think to shop at their local Beauty Supply store for their Halloween costumes but they should!  While you may not be able to get your full Halloween costume you will certainly get inspiration, makeup ideas and great hair ideas.  At Westside Beauty Supply there’s always someone there to help you with makeup choices, whether you want to sport a ghoulish glow, punk rock hair, or cat eyes, our beauty professionals can help you rock your look.  Here are some of my favorite ideas:

Cat Eyes

Go from wow to MEOW with a double winged cat eye that’s as fierce as your sexiest pair of stilettos. It’s easy to do using Too Faced Cat Eyes Eye Shadow Palette.  Too Faced includes handy glamour guides in their Palettes and have great how to videos on their YouTube Channel.

Halloween Nails

Have some fun with your nails by choosing dark and scary Halloween nail colors, or try creating a unique design all your own.  China Glaze and Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer both offer scary good colors to choose from.  Think about using dotting tools or striping brushes to make your design stand out.  For more inspiration visit our new Nail Technician, Jasmyne at our Santa Cruz location on River Street (now next to Chipotle’s). Be sure to join us on October 22nd for our Spooktacular Nail art class at our Capitola store.

Crazy Colorful Hair

For Punk Hair Styles and colorful hair designs try Jerome Russell’s BWild Temporary Hair Color.  Bwild spray comes in seven wild, vivid colors that easily spray in and wash out and will not damage your hair.

False Eyelashes

These days false eyelashes come in so many styles there’s got to be one that rocks the look you want including:

  • Natural
  • Rhinestone
  • Glamour
  • Colors
  • Edgy

For tips on how to apply them perfectly visit my previous post here.

Here’s to a spooktacular Halloween!
